Join us as we commemorate World Refugee Day by exploring the resettlement experiences of individuals from diverse African backgrounds. This event will shed light on the remarkable journeys of four guests who have navigated the challenges of displacement and resettlement.
The evening will provide a platform to discuss the intertwining narratives of resilience, identity, and integration. Through an open dialogue, we will foster a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding forced migration. Amidst the warm ambiance of an Ethiopian-Eritrean coffee ceremony, our evening will unfold with three distinct courses, each highlighting a different aspect of the resettlement process. Accompanied by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, we will celebrate the rich heritage of Afro-British culture while also exploring some of the more contentious themes that accompany displacement narratives. We invite you to join us on this World Refugee Day for a unique, immersive experience, that will help bridge the gap between theory and lived experiences. Please be aware that the content of the conversation may feature themes of a sensitive nature.
Doors open at 18:30, event begins at 19:00. Tickets are free, but there is limited availability. Please reserve your space here. Decaf coffee will also be served, and alternative hot drinks will be made available.
